Linda Pate is the owner of the Essence and New York times reporting bookstore Precious Memories. Precious Memories was birthed on July 24, 2004. As we approach our two year anniversary we find ourselves reflecting on the journey thus far. It has been a blessed event. One filled with great moments of surprise and awe as we’ve felt the community embrace us one workshop, poetry reading, and retreat at a time. Our dream has been to “build the community by connecting with books” but have found that it’s been about so much more; something that forged the foundation of the neighborhoods surrounding our store – good, old-fashioned caring, kindness and friendship.Linda presented the award for Best Blogger.
